Shadows and Smoke . . . Between Two Worlds

Hi, this journal is where I share some of my fan fiction, which is so far only FX the Series but hopefully, soon, my muse will inspire me to do other stories. I also post my icons and I'm not ashamed to say that I'm still learning how to make them. Rules for the icons: No hot-linking and no taking text-less icons and using as bases. Comments are helpful and encouraged for both fiction and icons. If you like the icons and wish to credit, you will make me happy.

Here are a few more resources for icon textures. I just downloaded them and can't wait to use them. Enjoy!

There has been so much unfair and unwarranted comparisons that have been made between Twilight and The Hunger Games. I, personally, hate that Bella is dismissed as not being a strong female character or that the choices she makes are to serve her man, Edward. This article Mendelson's Memos: Question of the day: Why *isn't* Twilight's Bella Swan a feminist creation? does a good job of arguing that Bella is indeed a strong female character because she is making and following her own choices, even when those choices seem to be at odds what everyone else thinks.

An interesting article about media critics reactions to the 30 second Cosmopolis trailer. Can 30 seconds really change someone's mind? Dunno. But I guess we'll find out. There are certainly some critics who are now more willing to give Robert Pattinson a chance than they were in the 30 seconds before they saw the trailer.

This is a really good article about Robert Pattinson's Bel Ami and the prejudiced reviews by some critics. Is he really the one unable to shed the Edward Cullen persona or are the critics the ones who can't let go of the Twilight baggage? PS You wouldn't believe the trouble I've had posting this link.

Robert Pattinson Says Stuff Sometimes

I love how honest Rob is...he is genuinely self-effacing. Er, at least I think he is. I don't know him for realz or anything.

Robert Pattinson Says Stuff Sometimes, I was doing progressively smaller movies in...
